The Waterfront is a drug and alcohol recovery program for men and an emergency homless sheltor. They have worship every evening and last night the worship focused on the 3rd step in the AA 12 step program.
The entire message of the preacher was that it is not about us. We have to be willing to let it be about God. You have to empty your cup of "knowledge" and fill it with the grace of God.
Many of the men were in a place where their cup was completely empty and they knew that it had to be about God.
In our devotion, we thought that it is a message that everyone needs to hear because we try to fill our half-empty cups with money, success, friends or stuff. The message is really "God is evreything".
Christ's call to us is pretty bold, "Follow me." We know Christ is already at work all around the world and we are trying to be bold in our response to Christ's call. Here are our stories from Mobile, El Salvador, Pittsburgh and within our own community of Charlotte.
